Transportation Options:

Drive to Joshua Tree, California

We'll provide detailed directions. Be advised that the last few miles of road are unpaved and sandy, but should be accessible by most vehicles.

Fly to Palm Springs International Airport

We'll provide transportation from the airport to our cabins, and back. Please note that check-in for the cabins is 3:00 pm, so if you can get a flight that arrives by 1:00 pm, this would be ideal. Keep us in the loop when making your travel plans, and we'll try our best to assist you!

In December, the average high temperature is 60 degrees Fahrenheit, and the average low at night is 35 degrees.

What to Bring

You can expect chilly mornings and evenings; afternoons can be warm and sunny. Because of this, it's advisable to bring layers to be prepared for anything. Gloves, a hat, and a warm jacket or coat would be good, especially if you tend to run cold, and especially if there is wind.

You'll want comfortable clothing for yoga and taking walks. Walking will be on sandy ground, and there can be cactus spines on the ground, so bringing sturdy footwear for desert walks is essentials. This is an informal, cozy retreat, so please bring clothing that allows you to be comfortable and to move freely.

Writing Supplies

Most participants will want to bring a laptop (wifi is available in the cabins), a journal, and various other notebooks, pens, etc. for brainstorming and mapping.

Other items you may find helpful

  • Flashlight
  • Yoga mat
  • Sunscreen
  • Earplugs
  • Lotion, good lip balm, cough drops-- the desert air is dry!
  • Any special items: your favorite tea, etc.

We'll provide more detailed information closer to the retreat, and you're more than welcome to email US with specific questions!
