Description

This retreat will give you the opportunity to write and meditate in an atmosphere that is supportive, structured, reflective, and deeply nourishing. We'll provide inspiration and guidance to support your writing practice, as well as a timeframe in to do the work— writing for at least four hours each day. Cultivation of mindful awareness through meditation, yoga, and qigong supports your creative process by helping to calm and refresh the mind and heart. Times of connection, lively discussion, and sharing provide the opportunity to learn from and support each other as a community of writers.

Vi and Katie have created a daily schedule that prioritizes writing (of course!), opportunities for mindfulness and meditation practice, as well as times to come together for community support and sharing. We blend structure, support, and freedom to support your writing practice.

Place

Harrisonburg & the Shenandoah Valley

Summer in this part of the world offers stunning sunsets and quiet nights serenaded by crickets and entertained by fireflies. Our home base will be Vi's comfortable and peaceful home, with its backyard view of the surrounding mountains, farms, and fields.

Your retreat team will provide fresh and tasty meals and snacks to nourish your body, mind, and soul. We come from an Amish/Mennonite backgrounds that emphasizes delicious food and gracious hospitality, so you can expect to enjoy meals that foster community and sharing. Let us know what you need, and we'll be flexible and accommodating of your food needs and preferences.
